RIG RIOT / FIELD NOTE

Raids and Extraction Loop

Objectives, forward progression, upgrades and the limits of the demo route.

RIG Riot frames each run as a raid through the Megastructure. The confirmed loop is straightforward: enter the raid, complete objectives, continue forward, upgrade the RIG and pursue parts, enemies, major encounters and secrets as the difficulty rises.

What to do in a raid

  1. Enter the available area and identify the active objective. The objective is the next progression requirement, not optional flavor text.
  2. Complete that objective before pushing deeper. Official descriptions connect objective completion with continuing forward.
  3. Use available upgrades to prepare for the next area. Keep permanent RIG parts conceptually separate from changes that apply during a run.
  4. Repeat the objective-and-upgrade cycle as resistance increases. Watch for parts and secrets, but do not assume an exact route or reward location without matching in-game information.

Demo scope

The free demo officially covers its first stage. That makes it useful for learning the loop, but it does not establish the final number of areas, major encounters or extraction points. The full-game description promises additional stages, parts, major encounters, progression and secrets.

Extraction details

The developer's January 6, 2026 playtest note documented an optional extraction ruleset for new saves. In that historical build it was off by default, did not apply to existing saves, unlocked six minutes into a run, and caused collected loot to be lost on death. That is useful version history, not a claim that the September demo or eventual release uses the same menu, timing or penalty.

For the version you are playing now, check the new-save options and current in-game wording before enabling an extraction rule. The reviewed public sources do not provide a current universal step-by-step extraction route. Follow the active objective and the next accessible area, and use the update date to decide whether an older route still applies.

A repeatable raid routine

At the start of a run, identify the active objective before choosing a direction. Move only far enough to confirm whether the route advances that objective. After completing it, look for the newly opened forward path and review any available upgrade before entering the next pressure point. Keep part collection, temporary run upgrades and movement choices separate in your notes; they answer different questions.

When the path branches, choose the branch supported by an objective marker or an observed condition. A striking doorway or arena is not proof that it is the next step. If the game sends you back, record the missing condition rather than describing the route as random. The objectives guide explains how to isolate that condition.

What a failed run can tell you

A run that ends during travel may point to movement or route visibility, while a run that ends during combat may point to weapon role, mod interaction or upgrade timing. Reproduce one section with one deliberate change. Use the movement guide for traversal failures and the build guide when the equipped layers do not support the encounter.

Do not infer a universal extraction rule from the demo’s first stage. The demo is suitable for learning the loop, but the full game description promises additional stages, parts, encounters, progression and secrets. Those additions can change route length and decision order without invalidating the basic loop.

Frequently asked questions

Does every raid have the same room order?

The reviewed official material does not establish a fixed universal room sequence. A route should name its game version and show the conditions it follows.

Is extraction the only goal?

The confirmed public description emphasizes objectives, continuing forward, upgrades and collecting parts within the raid structure. This page does not invent an end condition that official material has not defined.

Where should I check for route changes?

Compare the current game with the dated developer posts and the updates page. The free Steam demo listing is the clearest boundary for first-stage scope.
