RIG RIOT / FIELD NOTE
How to Heal in RIG Riot
Health, repair pickups, healing upgrades and sustain decisions.
Healing in RIG Riot matters because late-run pressure can turn small mistakes into a failed raid. Treat sustain as part of the build, not as a backup plan you think about after the screen turns dangerous.
First checks
- Identify where your current health or damage state is shown.
- Watch for repair or recovery pickups during fights.
- Read upgrade choices for healing, repair, sustain or on-kill recovery language.
- Compare the healing plan with your weapon range and movement risk.
Build sustain by role
Close-range and melee builds usually need more reliable recovery because they trade safety for contact. Heavy builds need enough sustain to survive while turning or committing to slower weapons. Fast ranged builds can sometimes reduce damage taken by ending fights before enemies surround them, but they still need a recovery plan for mistakes.
When healing is not enough
If healing upgrades feel mandatory every run, inspect the cause. You may be staying in fights too long, missing objectives, overcommitting Turbo Boost, losing targets behind terrain or carrying a weapon setup that does not kill fast enough. Healing helps recover from pressure; it does not replace objective speed.
Frequently asked questions
Is there one best healing upgrade?
Not from verified launch-window data. The best sustain choice depends on whether the build takes chip damage, burst damage or risky melee contact.
Should I pick healing before damage?
Pick healing when the run is ending from attrition. Pick damage when fights last so long that scaling catches you. The right answer comes from the failure pattern.
What should I record for a healing guide?
Record the upgrade name, the exact effect text, the run version and whether recovery came from a pickup, passive effect or triggered condition.
